Our Curriculum
Our program at the Bambini Childcare is designed to meet the unique physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of young children.
Children are always encouraged to develop good work habits and share in the responsibility of their learning. They work at their own pace and on their own level, with guidance from dedicated teachers.
Our classroom materials are designed to appeal to the child’s natural desire to learn through hands-on education, physical movement, and observation of others.
Children at Bambini Childcare learn daily life skills, including how to prepare snacks and meals, how to set the table, how to get dressed, and how to care for animals and nature. Your child will also learn important social skills by observing and interacting with others. They will learn how to listen without interrupting and how to resolve conflict respectfully and peacefully. This area of learning promotes independence and continues to prepare them for their life ahead.
Within this area, children use their five senses to explore their environment and learn each day. They will learn how to describe their experiences in relation to their five senses: sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. This area of sensorial learning helps your child being to classify their surroundings and create order in their world. These skills are part of the foundation needed for math, geometry, and language as your child continues to learn.
Hands-on activities and materials are used to teach children about concepts of addition, subtraction, quantity, place value, patterns, and more. With this hands-on, exploratory approach to mathematics, your child is able to gain a better understanding of the meaning behind numbers and the facts they are being taught in the classroom.
In our classrooms, letter sounds are introduced first using hands-on learning materials. They will continue to build on these letter sounds as they learn to blend the sounds to create words and sentences, as well as how to use a writing utensil. After your child has begun to acquire these skills, they will simultaneously and naturally learn how to read. We focus on spoken word, as well as written word, so that your child has a strong foundation.
Cultural studies are divided into four main areas: geography, science, history, and nature. Your child will begin to explore and learn their place within the world while they travel through history and learn the concept of change. Studying nature helps your child learn the concept of time by investigating the seasons, weather patterns, and the daily calendar. Your child will learn more about their community and the world around them as we explore the differences and similarities between each and every person. This helps your child begin to develop an appreciation of the diversity of our world and why uniqueness is so valuable.
Art activities are designed to bolster creativity and personal expression, using a variety of materials and techniques in the classroom. The children learn to cut and glue, create shapes with a pin punch, color, paint, make seasonal arts and crafts, and more to foster an appreciation for art.
Spanish language activities prepare the child for development of second language skills by using total physical response methods with frequent participation in songs, games, finger plays and reading of books in both English and Spanish.
Music is an integral part of our comprehensive classroom environment. It enables children to communicate and express themselves. It helps them learn to enjoy music and feel happy, while also enhancing their math skills, literacy, and overall brain development. Music can even improve their academic performance!
The outdoors is integrated to fill the children’s need to connect with nature, care for nature, and exercise their large muscles. Different areas are designed and provided with specialized equipment to fulfill each of these unique goals.
Gardens of herbs, vegetables, and flowers allow the children to plant, weed, water, and harvest. The experience of “seed to table” informs and inspires the child, while also creating a sense of pride and accomplishment along the way.
